This was my favourite winter-spring moisturizing cream for the last few years. My face gets really dry and sensitive in winter and stings at many moisturizers. This product makes my face feel comfortable and soft even in cold winter wind. I really like the honey smell, too. I used up 3 jars in 3 winters and last year when I heard it would be discontinued I immidiately ordered 2 jars to store up. Now I'm on my last few drops of the last bottle and I'm really sad. Why do you d/c such a great product? Why?

My skin becomes sensitive during winter. My friend recommended me to this face cream about 3 years ago, and I only used it for the winter. I really love it. It smells nice and very easy to spread out on my skin. It doesn't clog my pores and makes my skin really soft. I didn't know this product has been discontinued otherwise I would get more and keep them in my fridge. I felt L'Occitane discontinued many great products but the replacements are not as good as the old ones.

I know this moisturizer has been discontinued--about which I am HEART BROKEN! I have very sensitive combination skin and stumbling on this moisturizer was a god send.
My skin was damaged after foolishly trying retin-A years ago. I spent years living with red welts that would form on the scars left by Retin-A and would be irritated by various skin care products. You name it, I've tried it.
Then I stumbled onto a sample of this moisturizer after wandering into their store while on vacation in Arizona. Within weeks the welts disappeared. They never returned until I was foolish enough to try 'hope in a jar'. I immediately switched back to this gem and the welts soon disappeared.
I wish L'Occitane had not discontinued this moisturizer....I am back in the wilderness again looking for a nice moisturizer that isn't greasy, heavy, irritating etc. So far, I have settled for Lumiene since its available and doesn't do any harm, but its nothing compared to this miracle in a jar.

Well i'm a bit late with this as it has been discontinued but I managed to find some from Strawberry.net recently(they are still selling it...more on that later).
The consistancy is a cream with a light texture, it sinks in quite quickly after application. However, in the jar it looks a bit heavy and I had intended to save it for winter.
I was recently struggling with congested skin dues to hormonal and weather issues. Sadly all my best beauty weapons were not working
:-( I had tried everything but to little avail. Then i happened to read something about honey and acne and thought - oh i'll try my honey face cream. I'm glad I did becuase it has slowly cleared my problem and helping the spots heal faster. It has no effect on the lines under my eyes so i'm still using Rosehip seed oil for that. Otherwise its a lovely non greasy moisturiser, such a shame they stopped making it.
If you are going to buy this from strawberry.net i suggest that you ask for a sell by date. The glass jar seemed to have had it scratched off so I have a sneaky suspicion they are selling out of date ones. I have had no problems with it yet but worth letting people know. As I won't be able to repurchase I am going to try Live-Live Bee yummy skinfood.

I have a particular fondness for L'Occitane, and this product is unsurprisingly lovely.
This is precisely what my currently incredibly sensitive, prone-to-random-breakouts combination skin needs. It's nourishing and comforting and hydrates very thoroughly, but isn't overty heavy. It's not anti-ageing and probably isn't rich enough for periods where my skin is at its driest and flakiest (for that, I alternate between Jurlique's Calendula Cream, Lancome's Hydra Zen Nuit and Clarins' Huile Santal), where I would possibly use it during the day as a kind of lotion, but as a soothing, rather delicate cream for normal to dry skin, this stuff is gorgeous. My skin is noticeably softer and calmer two weeks after I started using it (it was going through an angry, crazily sensitive, rough-but-spotty phase), and it seems significantly less irritated.
As with most L'Occitane products I've tried, it's a genuine pleasure to use. It's creamy but light and doesn't coat the skin with the filmy layer of grease that some moisturisers advertised specifically as 'nurturing' or 'replenishing' tend to leave. It smells wonderful, the packaging is resplendent with L'Occitane's whimsical vintage chic, and (says she who usually maintains a cynical level of restraint when it comes to waxing lyrical about girly activities) it's supremely comforting to apply and wear. I would definitely buy another jar when this one runs out.

I've tried so many moisturizers, and finally found the right one for me! The very first time I used it, my husband happened to touch my face and say 'wow, you're skin is so soft!' without him knowing I changed moisturizers.
It smells delicious and is very lightweight. My skin is very sensitive but gets very oily throughout the day, so a lightweight product feels best for me. It does not irritate my sensitive skin at all, and makes it feel well hydrated and balanced. I don't break out from it either.
Only downside is that it has no spf protection. (My sensitive skin stings whenever I use spf on my face, which is probably part of the reason this product is so gentle.)

Love this cream! Gorgeous on sensative skin. I am dry and it works great for me.

A calming face cream that moisturizes well without being too heavy. Just the right amount of hydration for my normal/dry skin. It may leave your face looking shiny for the first 10 mins, but once absorbed you’ll get the baby soft skin. Smells great, sweet as honey but doesn’t give me headache.

LOVE this cream. Having slightly oily, sometimes sensitive, acne prone skin, it is hard to find a moisturiser that isn't to heavy or light. This is perfect for my skin :)
It has calmed my skin, which I think I was over cleansing (resulting in lots of break outs), & helped it heal and look just about normal.
I don't mind the packaging, I just keep it in the fridge.
Quite pleased, would definately recommend for people who have sensitive skin! continued >>

Thismoisturizer saved my face after chemotherapy. Prior to chemo, my face was normal, with 2 small patches of dry and a little acne prone (blackheads) on my chin. But chemo made me dry to very dry everywhere and very acne prone once a month. Not a pretty sight. This cream resurrected my skin to its former glory. I tried many emollient products (whole range of drugstore and health food store, BB, PTR, & Caudalie) to no avail. One generous fingertip's worth from this pretty jar (I wish it were in a pump) is all I need for my whole face and neck. My skin is now moisturized, fairly clear (I still have an monthly zit, but that's hormones for ya), and , well, pretty. It has a happy healthy glow. So much so that most days I only wear concealer under my eyes and a TM. Not foundation. Yay! continued >>

After my bad experience with the olive face cream, I decided to collect copious amounts of samples before I bought this cream.
I used the samples at two different times and recently it had began to work better with my skin. Initially I found it a little too greasy and not calming enough. But my skin was also going through a huge change from being combi-oily to oily-dehydrated and now mildly dry & oily -dehydrated. I've gone through ridiculous amounts of moisturisers before I braved this.
For a long while Nuxe's Creme Fraiche De Beaute (light) was my HG. But after they discontinued the brand here, I have been having problems. This Honey face cream is the closest thing I've found to it since. And also because my skin is getting more dehydrated and less oily, there is less need for matifying solutions.
I've taken one lippie off because while it does give you a nice glow in the morning and after you put it on, it doesn't brighten and even out skin tone as effectively as Nuxe's moisturisers. With this, I get a clean face look, but with Nuxe I get that and 'I'm so healthy and glowing' look. Also, this honey cream is a very basic moisturiser with some calming properties. So if you're looking for a basic that doesn't break you out and hydrates oily-normal skin, then this is your thing.
One last point, I live in a tropical climate and have had no problems using this on my décollete - doesn't cause breakouts like other creams that would fall in the HG category for my face.
UPDATE: 25/11/07 - The honey face cream is going to be discontinued and replaced with the honey & lemon delightful cream. I've yet to try a sample of the honey & lemon cream on my face and will update when I do. I tried it on my hand today and found it containing a bit too much fragrance despite it being ok for both hand & face.
UPDATE: 14/05/08 - They've replaced this line with the organic cotton & shea butter line. Tried their measely sample. The serum worked well to quell redness on the spot but I think the moisturiser broke me out with whiteheads despite not being oily and well absorbed. I think shea butter might not work for everyone. Will write review when can get hands on more samples. continued >>

This is one of the few moisturizers that I can use without breaking out. It takes very little to cover my whole face, so the jar lasts quite a while. The smell is delicious. I will say that you should be careful to seal it up well, or some of it can dry out and get gummy.

I've just started using this product. I have combination skin..for the most part I have pretty good, youthful skin (at 34). I use plain Cetaphil as a cleanser every day and night and I use an SPF of 30, 55 or 70 daily (I'm African American).
I've been looking for a good night moisturizer for a while now. I use Philosophys Hope in a Jar for daytime and I use the L'Occitane at night. So far so good.....
Packaging beautiful as usual from L'occitane. Pricing is fine when compared with other creams of this kind. Overall rating is 5..I love it!
Update: Still love it! I've been using it almost a month now and it works great. I use it exclusively as a daytime moisturizer (I use Philosophys Hope in a Jar at night which is WONDERFUL too!). It's very light and smells great. It works so well on my combo skin. TIP: use the teeny-tiniest bit--a little goes a long way. I used to be one of those who was heavy handed with my products until my dermatologist taught me how to use products effectively. I use less than a pea sized amount on my entire face and neck with this and other products I use and I get great results.

What a pity! The smell of this product is lovely and is the reason I tried it. I have fair sensitive skin that reacts to changes in temperature and goes red at the drop of a hat. This being said however, I do use AHA's on my face at night, and have not had any major problems. Today I wore this moisturiser into town but had to come home early because my skin felt so tight- like it was burning- and had turned beat red. This product is not for people with sensitive skin! Thank goodness I decided to try a sample before buying a jar!

I bought this when my skin was crazy because I got off the pill (super sensitive, dehydrated, zits where I never had and so on). Anyway, I loveeeeeeeeeeee the smell and although this didn't do anything to solve my problem (calm soothe) helped me sleep better because of the lovely fragrance, anyway, I have moved on and the jar is still half full. Won't repurchase.

This is slowly reaching HG status. It smells wonderful. It calmed my irritated and sensitive skin. It doesn't feel greasy. It hydrates my skin very well. This is a must for sensitive skin.

I have the misfortune to have sensitive skin, however this product makes looking after my skin stress free! The texture is wonderful and leaves no residue, just softness. I love the strong smell, especially now that I've been using this product for a while and every time I use it, it brings back memories. Definitely a classic product.

The cream smells fabulously, the feeling on my skin after I apply it is perfect (it makes me dream the nicest dreams every night), the bottle is so incredibly cute ..... do I have to say anything more?
Ok, I have heard that the cream is comedogen and that this is not good for our skin, but this cream hasn't caused me any problems yet so I will gladly continue using it.
